Would you like to work as a guide on a tour that showcases Kyoto’s unique appeal through perspectives of “Clothing, Food, Housing, and Culture”? This tour takes participants on a journey to experience Kyoto’s traditions and local lifestyle. Activities include visiting a recycled kimono shop, sampling local delicacies at neighborhood stores, exploring traditional townhouse architecture, and strolling through Shinsenen and its surrounding streets.

A vegan-friendly plan is particularly popular, offering guests a safe and enjoyable way to savor local flavors.

 


 

Details

  • Position: Local guide for private tours (vegan-friendly focus)

  • Hourly Rate: ¥1,500

  • Location: 4F, 1/8 Bldg. (One-eighth Building),67-15 Nishinokyo Shokushi-cho, Nakagyo-ku,Kyoto City.

  • Working Hours: From once a week (flexible schedule)

  • Required English Proficiency: Intermediate or above

  • Required Japanese Proficiency: Intermediate or above

  • Additional Preferences: Candidates with an interest in veganism are welcome!

  • Employment Type: Part-time

Selection Process

Interviews will focus on your ability to interact warmly with shopkeepers in the shopping street and show consideration for tour participants.

Work Environment & Features

As a guide, you will lead private tours designed to help vegan participants enjoy Kyoto’s charm. The tour includes:

  • Exploring kimono culture at a recycled kimono shop.

  • Sampling and enjoying local delicacies through tastings and lunch at neighborhood shops.

  • Visiting traditional townhouse architecture and strolling through Shinsenen and its nearby streets.

  • Experiencing Kyoto's traditional industries by visiting local artisans, such as a paper shop or pottery store, while engaging with shopkeepers.
